Explore our ever expanding (pun intended) page of FAQs. If there’s something you don’t see here just ask. We’ll answer you and your question will probably be added as a FAQ (because there’s no dumb questions). We’ve organized them according to topics to make what you are looking for easier to find.
General
Any Warranty / Guarantee?
Do I need to sign a contract?
Nope. Nothing but accepting the Terms of Service when you sign up.
What is this going to cost?
While some developers shy away from showing you a cost – we’re not.
Our pricing is super simple and very inexpensive.
$499 and then $59 a month.
Want to pay for the year in advance? We’ll give you 20% off!
That’s it. Start any time, stop any time.
Can I see some of the sites you’ve done?
You sure could. We used to have a portfolio of client sites but we recently took it down.
We were finding that instead of building the site that you had a vision for, we were building copies of sites from our portfolio – over and over and over again. We’re proud of the sites we’ve built and we’re honored by the testimonials from our clients. Let’s discuss what you like and we can point you in the right direction.
In the end, we want to build what you want – not what we want.
I’m in the _____ business. Ever built a site for…
Yes we have! (probably). We’ve built thousands of websites over the years and we’ve most likely built one for someone in your line of business too!
We’ve built sites for Doctors, for Lawyers, for Artists, for Ice Cream Shops, for Real Estate Agents and pretty much every business. If we haven’t built one for your business yet, that’s about to change.
Let’s Get Started!
What do I need to start?
We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you. At the very minimum you’ll need:
- A domain name (as in sitesforbiz.com). You probably already own one. If you don’t, you can go over to GoDaddy and buy the name that best fits your needs. (This is about all GoDaddy is good for).
- Pick a Design Theme. We offer three basic ideas. Read more about them HERE.
- Have a business card? It probably is enough to give us the contact details you want (name, address, phone, email) plus we can use that as a base for color codes and your logo.
- Your About Us. How about a paragraph or two on your business and maybe the staff behind it? Did you know that your About page is the most visited page on your site?
- Images. Have great pictures that relate to you or your business? We’ll use them to make your site beautiful.
That’s enough to get us started and might be enough for you. Remember though, the site is not limited. You can have as many images, pages, posts as you like.
Hosting
I already have a hosting account…
That’s great, but with our program you don’t need it. We include hosting in our pricing.
Cancel it and take your significant other out on a date instead.
Do I need hosting?
Yes you do. We can code a site but you need a web server (host) to hold all of that code and make the site work. Your site will actually be on Green Hosting! That’s a server that sources energy from wind and solar! We have a 99.9% uptime rating and a negative 300% carbon footprint! How cool is that?
Website
Can I Blog?
ABSOLUTELY!
(sorry for yelling but we really like bloggers!)
While you don’t have to blog, every one of our sites has the ability to blog.
Blogging adds so much to your SEO strategy.
How many pages can I have?
The site is unlimited. You can have as many pages as you like.
What design options do I have?
Great question! Design can involve so many different aspects – from typography to color pallets to CSS to Javascripts and on and on. There are literally hundred of thousands of design elements out there. It’s why typical web projects take developers and designers over 6 months to launch a site. Not us! This program was built to simplify the process.
We’ve narrowed design down to a couple of main ideas. Each of these refers to how the home page looks and acts.
- The Parallax Style: Most businesses these days have what is called a flat or parallax design. Just like this site. The homepage is broken down into horizontal sections, alternating between solid colored backgrounds and images. Usually text or buttons float over the images at a rate different than the background (that is the parallax part). Read about Parallax Design.
- The Magazine Style: Aptly named after the cover of a magazine, this style is usually a series of boxes offering the reader hints and teasers on what’s inside. This style is great for the active blogger, pulling in the latest posts with their title, image and perhaps a snippet of text. Read about Magazine Design.
- The Hybrid Style: No it has nothing to do with a Prius. It’s a combination of both the Magazine and the Parallax with a few differences. To use this style you’ll need a logo that really stands out over the top of an image. Read more about Hybrid Design.
As for colors, logos, fonts and that kind of thing – we can do anything you like!
Who owns the website?
Good question.
While we own the hosting and code, we strongly believe that you own everything else.
You should always own your domain name. Other developers that buy the name for you are trapping you into keeping you a client forever.
You always own 100% of your content. Everything you submit, everything you upload is yours and will always be yours.
How long will this take?
We’ll have your site up in DAYS. That’s all.
Unlike other Developers that take weeks or months.
What is included in the package?
Basically, everything you need. You’ll get a complete website.
There’s always the possibility something new might come along and you’ll want that included. We can always add in the future.
Lead Generation
Will my site have SEO?
That stands for Search Engine Optimization and the short answer is YES!
Let’s also throw another word into that phrase. “Organic SEO“.
When you search Google, the results page shows “paid” links up at the top. That is not Organic SEO. These sites have run a Google Adword Campaign to be there. There’s nothing wrong with that. Just remember this is NOT “organic”.
Down the page a bit you’ll find the beginning of sites that did not pay to be there. These are sites that Google thinks should be there organically.
So the better answer is that your site will have ORGANIC SEO!
In plain English this means that your posts and pages will have proper SEO setup.
Your pages will be submitted to Google for rapid indexing.
Google will view your content and analyze it to match queries it’s users “Google”.
Based on the billions of pages Google has indexed, it will look at all of them and then create an answer for that user’s query. This is called a Search Engine Results Page (SERP). That SERP might have 100,000,000 results!
Where your site is on that SERP is what most people think of as “SEO”. Hopefully that makes sense.
It’s important to know that there’s no button to turn SEO on or off. SEO isn’t something any company can flip a switch on. Each of our sites has all of the tools you need to organically rank high in Google for any term. We give you the tools you need and then instruct you to properly use them.
Does this include lead generation?
No. But we like how you are thinking!
Let’s talk about this. Lead Gen can be split into 2 funnels.
Funnel #1: SEO – This is being found in Google when someone searches for a particular term. Your site will have all the proper tools for great SEO. For more of an in depth discussion check out the FAQ on SEO.
Funnel #2: Ad Campaigns – Once you have your site built, you can then run ad campaigns on Facebook, Google or virtually anywhere that lead back to your site. Your site has all the tools it needs to run A/B tests, Landing Pages, Analytics, and so on. Once again, this is up to you. You’ll have the proper tools to do anything.
Cancelation
Can I cancel?
Of course you can! We’ll be sorry to see you go but we understand.
We have a 30 day money back guarantee. So if you are within 30 calendar days of your order just let us know and we’ll refund EVERYTHING to the card you have on file. Simple as that.
After the first 30 days you can still cancel at any time. No advanced notification required.
Just make sure that this is really what you want.
Once we get started doing this, it’s really hard to go back.
